2 April 2014 -- Bangladesh Health Sector taking connectivity to grassroots

Through a nationwide program being held in upazilas (sub-districts) throughout Bangladesh on 2 April 2014, all community clinics (over 12,500) and union health sub-centers (1,275) will receive laptops and Internet modems and about 12,000 community health workers will receive 2G/3G enabled tablet computers. These devices will be used for health data collection, work-attendance monitoring, delivering health services like telemedicine and multi-media health education of clients, and e-learning of health staffs. The formal launching ceremony will be held in Dhaka on 2 April 2014 at 12:30 pm at MIS Auditorium, MIS, DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka.
